St. Patrick's day

Este ano o dia de St. Patrick vai ser celebrado a 17 de março, ou seja, na próxima segunda feira. 

Vamos transformar a nossa escola com o espírito irlandês. 

Vamo-nos vestir de verde e usar os nossos chapéus de leprechaun.

Quem quiser fazer o seu chapeu durante o fim-de-semana aqui fica o molde. Não se esqueçam de ampliar o molde!

Os chapéus devem ser elaborados em cartolina verde.

Pancake day

É habitualmente comemorado em fevereiro, cinco semanas antes da Páscoa. É sempre numa terça-feira que se designa "Shrove Tuesday".

As pessoas tradicionalmente comem panquecas neste dia, porque no dia seguinte começa o jejum da Quaresma. 

Os Britânicos costumam comer panquecas com sumo de limão fresco e açúcar. Nalgumas cidades inglesas há mesmo corridas com panquecas, onde participam habitualmente mulheres. 

Cada participante tem uma frigideira e uma panqueca. As corredoras devem lançar ao ar a panqueca e apanhá-la na frigideira repetidamente ao mesmo tempo que correm.

Depois desta prova e de muita algazarra, geralmente há uma missa em que todos participam.

Os nomes alternativos para terça de carnaval são Martedì Grasso, Mardi Gras, e Carnaval.
